Faux Model

I wanted to post all the pics of the 'modeling' I did for Katie Norris and FotoStrap taken by Sarah Kate Photography. Mostly because they are fun and I won't have them printed because we all know its weird to have pictures of yourself printed like this. Also, because I probably will not be asked to model again I wanted to have this as proof!

Relaxing...

Monday was good. Monday's are always a little more tiring for our family but this one was tiring and good. Channing's allergies are CRAY right now and it makes her look pretty sad especially on a Monday morning. Anyhow she said she felt better after school.

 

When I got home from my run we ate Potato Soup.... from the crockpot. It was a Paula Dean recipe I found on Pinterest...

 

Paula Dean's crockpot potato soup recipe. Combine 1 bag frozen hash browns, 2 (14oz) cans chicken broth, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1/2c chopped onion, 1/3tsp black pepper. Cook in crock pot on low for 5hours. Stir in 8oz block of cream cheese, cook 30 minutes, stir occasionally.

 

Seriously, that is it and it was good. I use low sodium everything and low fat everything else. The only thing I would probably do different is use cubed hash browns and maybe more than one bag... to make it a bit heartier. Oh, I also just used a box of the chicken broth which I think is 32 ounces instead of 2 cans.

 

Anyway, we were tring to get Channing to eat it for dinner because she was trying to play and we told her we couldn't go on a bike ride unless she ate dinner. She stopped and looked at me and said, 'momma, we already had that soup like 100 years ago'.

 

 

First of that we have never had THAT soup before and second where did she get that?! It did make us laugh though and as you can see below... she ate it. I have learned we have to stick to what we say and she ate it so we were able to go on a bike ride. Whew!

I turned around during her bath to grab something and when I turned back to watch her I found her like this... she is so funny! I asked her what she was doing and she said 'relaxing'. 

A little after dinner snack... the mini's of these that I found at Target may be the end of me... I cannot get enough. Seriously so good but one tiny little tub is like 400 calories... oh well. 

And I will end on the fortune I got in my cookie at lunch today.

  Happy Tuesday.... Must mean I need wine tonight.

Hunter

Finally a reason to wear my beloved Hunter boots this weekend!

 

It was rainy and cold all day Saturday so of course I needed to wear them to Channing's soccer game and then to LH Octoberfest.

 

So exciting to have some actual Fall weather this weekend. Sadly, thought when we went to take Channing home so we could go back to the Old 97's concert it started pouring and that was a wash... literally boo!



We also ran to Calloways Saturday morning and they had this whole pumpkin set up and were letting kiddos decorate one for free. Then of course we looked over and Channing had 'picked' 5 other pumpkins we needed to paint at home. It was really fun though because it was cool enough to do it outside! What you don't decorate fall with pink?

Oh and did I mention we played Doll House at 7am?

 

I sure do love hearing... 'Mommy, shhhh, you wanna come play in my room with me'?

In other news... Channing fell out of her bed last night... poor girl was probably scared to death and so was I! That'll wake you up! Rails back on the bed I guess?? She was def ok but it scared us all pretty good!

Yee Haw

Thank the good Lord above that it is Friday! I don't know why but it seems that this week has taken FOREVER and we are ready for some fun!

 

Today was Western Day at Channing's school and she was PUMPED!

I cant wait to go up to the school to help out and see all the little cowgirl's and cowboy's running around!

She wore her CowGIRL (as she corrected me the whole week) hat all over the house this week. 

Chandler had to go to Austin yesterday and so after I ran and got home it was girls night at soccer practice and at the house afterwards. 

Speaking of running... Look who is one of the sponsor's at this years DRC's Half!

 

Lakewood Brewing Co! I mean lets face it... that is reason enough to run. Free drinks afterwards!

    This weekend we have lots of fun planned. The Lot tonight with old college friends and kiddos. Then tomorrow our first Lake Highlands Octoberfest! Channing also has a soccer game but we are hoping it doesn't get rained out!! She gets pretty disappointed when that happens.     Happy weekend!

Cough

So we started this weekend with Channing getting over some allergies turned into cold slash cough and myself getting sick with said cold slash cough. I felt pretty terrible when all the medicine I was taking would wear off but we made it... I have a raspy voice now but hopefully will feel lots better very soon.

Channing had picture day Friday at WRN and I asked her to show me how she was going to smile...

Saturday morning we went to Eloise's birthday party at the park. It was in the morning and was so cute... Donuts and milk and crafts and well... the park. Doesn't get much better than that to 3-4 year olds! Channing plays soccer with Eloise and starting to make more friends in our new hood of Lake Highlands... I really need to get involved in more play dates but we are working on that. I just joined the ECPTA so I am hoping that will help both of us. 

Sunday we switched the guest room and Channing's room. She needed the bigger room and so we spent most of the day doing that. We ALL needed a little break Sunday afternoon so we made some chalk paint and tried a new local beverage.

 



 

So I realized I need to take more pictures... with our real camera and not just my phone...

A Few Things...

So not too much to update right now...

 

I started making a few additions to our house... stilllllll working on it 7 months later and now we have decided to switch Channing's room. That is coming this weekend so I will try to post pics when that is done.

 

 

That planter box was made by the hubs out of a pallet and succulents are going to be planted in there... soon... 

I received a new Voxbox and I am excited to test everything out. The Ponds BB Cream is awesome and we already know Channy Lou loves Amy's!

We spent most of our weekend like this... Poor girl has a cold and allergies and it just knocked her out this weekend.
