Twas The Week Before Christmas...

Why is it SO crazy this year? Is it because Thanksgiving was so late or what? I am in a constant state of HURRY and CRAZY and I can't shake it. I feel like there is so much to do and that it has all been so rushed.

Last Friday was Channing's Christmas program. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever!!

This also happened last week. She picked out this whole outfit down to the last detail and posed for me to take her picture. I thought the choices were pretty awesome. Mini trend setter!

My mantle... I made that pinecone garland myself... Oh I also made the wreath!
feeling very crafty!

Up close... gold and silver spray paint here and there with glitter! DUH!!

Some little girl decorated my cell phone.... love it...
who doesn't like Lisa Frank??!?

My combo today!

Channing was SO excited for Santa to come to her school today for pictures!

My friend makes these awesome photo coasters! If you place your order today or tomorrow she will have them to you before Christmas. What a cute stocking stuffer idea!
Check out her shop here

Just a little sneak peak of my 'Ugly' Christmas sweater for a party on Friday!!
Wait until you see the whole outfit!

CRAZY weather is apparently headed this way this evening and I plan on getting ready...
wine... food... firewood
The past few weeks have been very rough. Channing's poor little eyes were giving her such a hard time that we finally desperately called an optometrist emergency line getting her in for them to try and check her eyes. That did NOT go well. Her eyes hurt she hadn't opened them in two or more days and she was scared and nervous.
We went away with an antibiotic that did not help and then finally they called in a steroid drop that did help clear her eyes and gave her major relief!
We still have an appointment on Monday with Children's Medical Eye Clinic but are SO thankful our girl is back. It was truly sad... she couldn't function her eyes hurt so bad.
Now see below... this goofy silly fun pretty girl is BACK!!

Her first dance recital costume... be still my momma heart!
We are now waiting to see if ice-magedon happens and ruins our plans this weekend!

A little DIY wreath for our mantle...
Ill post pics of everything when it is finished... which who knows when that will be... xmas eve maybe because Thanksgiving was SO late I feel like I am behind and rushed and it is only the first week of December!
Luckily we bought some good presents on Cyber Monday because before that we had not really started!

'ABCDEFG' is backkkkk

Last weekend it was 75 and muggy so we went to the park for a bit!

The pic below is one of the first days she was able to open her eyes without pain or much sensitivity to the light.... you can tell her eyes were very weak...
Sweet baby!

My little helper... she is just SO fun to be around... she loves to help with ANYTHING I do...

Our last long training run before the half on Sunday went well last weekend. We felt great but now I am afraid that it will be cancelled and an event that big probably won't be rescheduled.
It isn't our first and we both have done fulls but I love to race and it is so disappointing to think it may be cancelled.

We cut our Christmas tree down the Friday after T Giving like we always do!!

An attempt at a family pic but unfortunately this was one of Channing's worst eye days and she spent it with her head down and covered the whole time.

My parents took Channing to Bass Pro to Santa's Workshop and she had a blast with her glasses on!
She drew him a picture and gave it to him when she met him!

Because they took her out to see Santa Chandler and I had a HH date at HG SPLY Co.

Channing's little soccer team had their party and got trophies!
This was at the beginning of the eye drama so she wore glasses the whole time.

Something about this picture is so sweet to me.. pjs and playing in the backyard...

Well I would love to tell you guys that it has been all rainbows and butterflies in the Balch house the past few days but it hasn't.
Channing's allergies are at an all time HIGH and are so rough on her especially her eyes. We are trying to get into an eye dr because she now wears sunglasses inside and out and refuses to take them off most of the time now because her eyes have become so sensitive from allergies... possibly something underlying and we are having trouble getting her in anywhere before January. Super sad and frustrating !!!

Look at that LONG hair! She desperately needs a trim but this momma is picking her battles right now... hard to cut hair when your client is wearing sunglasses...

Saturday morning we had our first pictures in over three years scheduled and the morning started off with a royal fit that turned into OH, she really doesn't feel well and we need to reschedule the pics for another time.
Thinking it was her last soccer game we ran out there to make sure she made the team picture because I was for sure since her allergies were so bad she wouldn't want to play... but then she played the whole game! With sunglasses of course.
OH and NEXT WEEK is her last game... ya you know next Saturday when it is supposed to be in the 40's... YAY

Look at her in action!

Before dinner Saturday night she came in my room. I was resting on the bed and asked her to lay with me but she just laid down on the floor like that and fell asleep... rough few days :(
We both have colds and both had doctor appointments last week. We have seen better days in the Balch house... for sure!
My doctor apt on the other hand involves a HUGE cyst  that has me now on 'restricted activity' meaning NO running for a week or so and taking it easy otherwise... I do have polycystic ovaries and other related issues, which is a whole separate post, but this one is particularly BIG and they are worried about it bursting... please Lord NO!

Sunday Chandler and Tyler worked on our backyard a bit so Channing and I made 'salt dough' ornaments.... it was fun and she had a blast doing it... she played with the leftover ball of dough for an hour or so... it was glorious...

Here is our little corner seating area in the backyard...
They worked hard all day and I love it!

I paid them with italian chicken and Ina Garten's Balsamic Pancetta Brussels Sprouts!
They were SO good!
