Hunting

Last weekend Chandler went hunting with his dad, Bryson and Brandon. They had a blast and I thought I would post some pics from the hunt. I do not know much about hunting so the pictures will have to do!

Cookies!

A few weeks ago Chandler mentioned he made the BEST cookies EVER from scratch. Well, he had never made them for me and I asked him to prove it. He did indeed and this was the result! They really were awesome! Thanks Chan; sadly these are probably the last cookies that will be made from scratch before Channing comes... I just don't have the time haha, but I sure did enjoy these! And, yes, he did it all by himself... I did not help at all!

29 Week Baby Bump!

Please be forgiving... these were taken right before we were about to go to bed. I was a little tired! As you guys can see the belly is growing which means Miss Channing Layne is growing away in there! I am feeling pretty good, a little more uncomfortable especially at night but good on the whole!

We have a lot more to update you guys on this weekend! Pictures, nursery etc etc!

Dr Update

Last Friday I went to the doctor and wanted to update everyone on the appointment. Basically it was just a check up except for the fact that I had to go do my glucose test that day as well. The appointment went well. I saw another doctor in the practice, they try to let you see a few different doctors just in case you go into labor and your doctor is not on call that day. That way you are familiar with the others there. I really liked this doctor and we had a few good laughs. He asked if Chandler was a small baby, which he was, because he said I am so petite he was hoping that Chandler wasn't a big baby!! The glucose test went just fine, the drink was not as bad as I thought it would be, but I do not find out my results until sometime this week, probably today. I felt fine and didn't mind it much because all of that sugar made me feel like I had drank a Red Bull, which is something I have missed during this pregnancy.

My next appointment is in three weeks and at that time we also get to do another sonogram! We can't wait to see little Channing again! Although, I swear she is BIG Channing the way she punches and kicks at my ribs haha.

We are getting closer to meeting our little girl and couldn't be more excited!

A Very Balch Christmas!

Last night officially wrapped up the Christmas season for us. We celebrated Christmas with the Balch family and loved being together with them as always! Here are a few 'action' shots of the festivities. We got some great things and feel so thankful to have such a great family!!

How your baby's growing:

This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow for a regular check-up as well as my glucose test! I think it should be a breeze so I am going into it with a positive attitude. I will update everyone after the appointment. I have updated 'baby bump' pictures to post tonight as well so be on the look out for those!

Nursery Progress Pictures...

Today we made some more progress on the nursery! We added the wall decals to the back wall and also added the rug by 'Flor'. Also, notice the new lamp and the new side table beside the rocking chair. That is not the actual place the lamp will go but we are waiting on one more piece of furniture where the lamp will actually sit. We are so EXCITED with the way it turned out and hope that you guys are enjoying the progress!

26 Week Baby Bump Pictures!

I go for my next doctor's appointment next Friday the 15Th! I will also take my Glucose test at that time. I feel like it will go just fine and I am not too concerned about it. This weekend Chandler and I are going to work on the nursery a little bit more so I will update you guys with pictures of the progress very very soon!

26 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.

I am still rolling right along. I feel great still. My belly is growing bigger everyday, which means our Channing girl is growing away in there! I keep thinking more and more about meeting our sweet girl and seeing her face for the first time. Every time I think about it I tear up a little. I am already so excited to hold her and be her mom.

We started the registry process this last weekend and that is going pretty well. I am working on finishing that up this week. We are making progress with all of the things we have to get done before she gets here. Stay tuned for an updated 'Baby Bump' picture.

Fun with Chels and Matt and our first registry gift!

Last night Chels and Matt came over to hang out, order Chinese food, hang out by the fire pit outside and watch the bowl games! We had such a fun relaxing time. They brought Channing her very first gift off of one of her registries! She now has some swaddlers and 'Oh, the Places You'll go' by Dr Seuss. That was one of Cheslea's favorite books of all time and we had just registered for it that day. It was very special for us to receive her first registry gift. Thank you so much to Matt and Chels!

This is Channing's first rubber ducky; Ernie! He is a fashion duck. Ernie was given to Channing by Shelby and Brandon and we just know Channing will LOVE him. We think he is almost too cool looking to even get in the bath. This is by far the coolest rubber ducky Channing will ever get! Thank you so much Brandon and Shelby!
